Consistent in great food and great atmosphere!
Axel's is a "CAN DO" restaurant in a time of expensive and "if it's not on the menu...we can't do it" era. We try so many other restaurants and end up saying "Why didn't we just go to Axel's where we know it will be great?" It is the best place around for not only great food (love the walleye/fillet/cioppino), but also the best atomosphere with wonderful service. Simply the best
My husband and I would go to Axel's any day during the week and would always find something on the menu that we loved. The staff is top notch and we haven't found anything that compares with the service. We have since moved to Florida and are planning a trip back to Minnesota if only to grab a great meal at Axel's. Don't forget the popovers!
(for non-Minnesota readers, popovers are large, hollow rolls and they're great when served steaming hot as Axel's does at dinner).
Axel's is a steak, chops and fish menu, with very good food and modest prices. The wine is also reasonably priced with nice selections on the reserve list. [01 Mar 2006 17:04:50]
