Best Moo Shoo Pork in town!
Since there's never a waiting line, it's nice to find excellent service that also serves the BEST Asian food in town... and it's cheap! I suspect the location next to Petco and off the main drag keeps the usual trendy crowds away. Great for us!

This is not fancy food, just good quality food with wonderful flavor and no fillers. The owner is always cheerful with attentive service keeping your tea hot and willing to create dishes not on the menu upon request.... try the spring rolls, they are delicious! Her chef is quite talented. As for me, I always get the Moo Shoo Pork despite her encouragement to try something else on the menu. But, why bother when you can't get this house specialty anywhere else this good?

This is the best kept secret in Roseville. Bring your friends for a great place to enjoy a local meal together you can all afford to visit often.    [22 Apr 2004 13:20:42]

best Chinese food in twin cities!!
I always get the sesame chicken and cream cheese puffs. I have NEVER had Chinese food this good! I've been coming here for years, and now have to drive a ways to get here. It's well worth the drive! The location does keep people away, but like another reviewer said, good for us, there's not usually a line.    [13 Jan 2006 13:49:03]

Great Food, Great Service Great Prices
Some of the best and most authentic Lomein in the state, Most places use plain old spaghetti noodles. But they always use the best ingredients, and in the 15+ years I've been eating here never had a bad experience yet. And there is no difference at all between dine and and takeout, most places either cut the portions or use less than stellar tasting versions of the meals.

The owner always greets customer politely and quickly (and for regulars, she ussually remembers your name and favorite dishes...see previous review). And it's one of the only places I've found you can get dinner for 2 with apps for under 30.00!!!!

And as the other reviewers have said: no lines, never too busy, and always pleasantly peaceful to have coversation with friends or family over amazing food.    [04 Apr 2006 22:48:01]

If not the best, none are better.
Since we "found" this restaurant when we moved here in 1992, none of the other dozens of other Chinese restaurants that we tried have been better than Gold Fountain. The ingredients are always fresh, the wait at the table after ordering is minimal, never any lines to be seated, and Ming the hostess and waitress remembers my soup preference.

My wife and I have often ordered a special dish not on the menu or an alteration of a menu entree and there was no problem in getting them. I have read that the best test of an Asian food restaurant is the quality of the egg rolls and spring rolls - Gold Fountain passes the test with flying colors.    [11 Sep 2006 12:28:14]

I disagree
Based on the previous reviews I expected my first meal at Gold Fountain to satisfy my urge to find "good" Chinese food in the St. Paul burbs. But I was very sorely disappointed. I don't know if I was spoiled living in Wash DC where ethnic food is fantastic, even in the smallest, hole-in-the-wall kind of places. But my lomein was dry and unflavorful and the hunan chicken also didn't have much flavor and was pretty much just chicken and celery.    [22 Sep 2007 19:57:00]
