A clean cabin I have been to the Buffalo Tap many times, and I continue to go back. They have a large bar, but there's extensive seating in different areas, and it feels more intimate than just a big room. There's also a porch area that's open in the warmer months. They feature many TV's to catch up on sports, but it's much more subtle than the busy/loud atmosphere of a sports bar.
They are somewhat known for their food, especially their burgers. They have lots of options, and a good portion of it isn't just greasy bar fare. It's not fancy or overpriced, but it's what you expect and nothing seems to disappoint.
The waitresses are hilarious and they sometimes poke good natured fun. My dad tried to order one of their specialty burgers without most of the stuff on it, so she finally just said, "Sounds like you want a plain cheeseburger."
The one reason why I return is the atmosphere. It's a very clean place, with a cabin-ish feel. It's not smoky, at least earlier in the evenings. It has enough noise not to be boring, but you never have trouble hearing people. They have little nooks with great views, such as a view of the Credit River or of the RR tracks and the grain ports across Highway 13. There's also an area with darts, pinball, and the like.
I would definitely recommend the Buffalo Tap for a good meal with a few drinks. It's not a roudy bar, but a good place to share a laid back meal with family and friends. [13 Jan 2006 19:00:10]
