Unique Japanese Dining It's hard to say where to start with GoJo's. The heavy weathered wood decor is reminiscent of a Cambodian prison camp, but somehow inviting. It does break up the "restaurant" atmosphere into more intimate spaces separated by stairs and partial walls. The staff is genuinely excellent, they aim to please and consistently do. But the food, prepped and stir fried at the table around which 8 - 10 guests are seated is spectacular. Everything is artistically prepared by authentic Japanese chefs with theatrical flair. Tender shrimp, scallops and sweet crab meat, plump chicken pieces, but the sauces are amazing, especially the green sea-weed sauce. Everything about the place is uniquely excellent. Japanese Goodness - Best in KC!! Have been going to Gojos for over 10 years on Valentines Day (and hubby's b-day). Have never been disappointed! Seen many changes over the years but one thing remains the same - food is delicious. Guaranteed not to go home hungry at this place. The green and yellow sauce are the bomb! [13 Feb 2007 18:08:48]
