A REAL review
Manny's has been and probably will always be not only mine, but the majority of the city population's favorite Mexican restaurant.

While the service doesn't cater to your every whim, it's efficient and pleasant. Water glasses are generally always refilled and if you need anything you'll get it.

The food is outstanding - typical Americanized Mexican, but done so much better than the standard chain-type mexican restaurant. You can find something that suits any need - heat-o-philes should try the Fajita Taco dish, with the muy caliente salsa that accompanies it. I can honestly say I've never been disappointed by a meal at Manny's.

It's also well lit and, like I said before, clean. To justify my opinion, I tend to be one of those "snobby people" when it comes to food and dining - and Manny's doesn't disappoint.

Overall, I definitely think anyone in the KC area who likes Mexican food should try Manny's. Just make sure you're ready for a bit of a wait - it's ALWAYS busy.    [13 Jan 2006 19:09:22]

Try it!! You'll like it!!
We were in KC taking our Acura for a recall and had the day to explore... We ended up downtown hitting antique stores. Went by Manny's... saw many people coming and going and thought.. why not.. let's try it. We knew absolutely NOTHING about this restaurant, other than it was of Mexican cuisine. We walked in right on the lunch hour, waited about 15 minutes with many many people and they hustled people in and to a table as quick as possible.

The food was absolutely fantastic. There was no way I could eat it all. The service was exceptional and we will definitely be back. It was a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend it to anyone.

I have been eating at Manny's for over 15 years(6-8 times a year) It simple is what it is: a nice, very successful Mexican/American restaurant. Traditional dishes one might expect in any such genre across the country. These treats are well prepared and the price is more than reasonable. I do not pretend to be a critic a judge nor a "qualified other". I am just a guy that likes good food at a good price, pleasantly served. Manny's fills the bill. In short, pay a visit to Manny's and see for yourself. Chances are you will agree with Carol and Penny,the Jazztrumphet and me.

Good Food but RUDE service, even from Manager
I have ordered Manny's to go on several occasions, but after today, may not ever again. The person who took my order hung up on me and didn't understand my order. When I called back to complain to the manager, as I didn't realize the order was messed up before leaving, she argued with me and told me I didn't order from the menu correctly, when I read EXACTLY from the menu. Also, in case you didn't know, they do not take separate orders over the phone, so I suggest ordering one order, hanging up, calling again, and hanging up. Having three separate orders should not "slow down the to-go line" if they're ordered at the same time. What slows it down is poor service, and while I like this restaurant's food, because of the way I was treated when I called in the order and when I complained about my order, I may not go back.    [12 Apr 2007 13:10:05]
