Best Wings Anywhere! Don't let the outside fool you, the Main Event is both a neighborhood sports bar as well as a family restaurant with a fine family friendly atmosphere.
Darrold and "Mama Lou", the owners, will make you feel welcome, shake your hand and make sure everything is just right. Prices are reasonable and service is usually fast, except when they are very crowded. Weekday evenings are better for family dinners, the crowd is smaller.
They serve what are probably the best hot wings anywhere, and I have tried wings from coast to coast. Don't ask for the secret recipe, if Lou tells you she'll have to shoot you. [02 Sep 2003 12:22:29]

Things change... The Main Event recently changed hands. The place is still very nice, in fact the family atmosphere has probably improved over the previous owners, and the new owners are very nice caring people.
Sadly, I can't say the same for the wings. They just aren't the same, even though the new owners inherited the "secret recipe" from Mama Lou. (She gave it to me the day they closed!) Maybe too much Worcestershire, I don't know. They are still good, but not as hot and not irresistible. I am now free to order other things, like shrimp and steak.
I recommend the Main Event for anyone visiting Missouri's Current River country for fine food in a nice atmosphere. We still go about once a week, but the wings just aren't the same... [28 Feb 2007 15:35:50]

Prime Rib I have only been to the Main Event once, but it seriously was the best prime rib I've ever had. Considering what a small town mountain view is, I was very surprised. But as much as I love beef I know I will never forget the place. [20 Jun 2007 13:00:38]
