Springfield's Finest
This is a great restaurant with the best wine list in town. The sea bass on a cedar plank is outstanding. The waiters are attentive and very helpful. A great night out in Springfield. MO.    [23 Apr 2003 16:29:28]

Generally a Good Place
This is a pretty cool place to find in Springfield. It is expensive but mostly the food and service if of very high quality. It is probably one of the most pretentious places in town but seems to pull it off well and makes everyone feel mostly welcome.
Once I had a billing error and the owner tracked me down the next day somehow to correct it and apologize, so that was nice.    [28 Dec 2003 13:33:53]

Not So Great
I went hear with a few clients. They were busy, but I don't understand why. The food was almost odd in how poorly thought out it was. The service was condesceding at best. The atmosphere was loud and sardine like. I could not only hear every word of the table next to us, but could have reached their food if it hadn't looked like deep fried lobster.    [18 Mar 2005 02:10:53]

Overrated
I took my honey for our anniverary it was terrible. It was expensive and the service was terrible. We don't realy drink and the server was obviously bothered by this. I thought the food was okay, but for 95 dollars for the two of us it wasn't great    [02 Oct 2005 02:45:22]

Wonderful Food! (some) Bad Atmosphere! Expensive!
I had Chilean sea bass on a cedar plank--Wonderful!! He had a filet mignon that was not great. It was tough. The house salad was so delicious and well thought out, all of the flavors mixed very well and the house dressing was wonderful. The desert we each had was the 3 flavor creme brule was delicious but way too expensive for the amount you get. I did feel the same obvious note of irritation when I did not order alcohol with my meal. The espresso with dessert was very good. The restaurant was very cute but extremely loud! Again, I agree that the word pretentious describes it well. It felt as if you were sitting at the table with the entire clientel. There was a group next to us having a birthday dinner for an elderly lady by the time we left we knew all of their names and everything they talked about was heard at our table. I felt like an interloper and I also felt as if I could not openly talk. I felt nervous from all of the noise by the time we left.    [03 Jan 2006 09:48:00]

Outstanding.
I am a businessman from Seattle who dines at fine establishments on a regular basis. One of my holdings took me to Spingfield, Missouri for the first time in my life. I visited Bijans Sea and Grille on a Friday night with my wife and another couple. The atmoshpere was great. Lighting combined with a contemporary modern style worked perfectly. The hostess was nice and although our reservations were delayed 20 minutes she accomodated in a very nice way. Our server was a gentlemen from New Jersey who was full of personality. Its always nice to have a knowledgeable, personable, and attentive server. Service was great! The food was outstanding. We enjoyed escargot, shrimp, tuna, seabass, and a great rib eye amongst other dishes. Wine list is great! Martinis too! Chef Sam, who I talked to for 10 minutes, explained the new menu and the shift to traditional French mother sauces. Knowledgeable staff! Overall it was great and not too expensive. We look forward to our next visit.    [10 Jan 2006 09:23:37]

Where's the menu?
I've been there a few times (when my
boss was paying) and enjoyed it even
though it's noisy and crowded. Food
is very good, if pricey. Would like to
see a menu posted on website.    [07 Feb 2006 17:01:51]

A total rip off
My husband and I went out for Valentines day dinner. We knew it was going to be expensive, but this was absolutely ridiculous! You had to get a 4 course meal, we had no interest in their appetizers or salads, but had to pay for them anyway. Not only did we have to pay for something we would have never in a hundred years ordered, but the portions were microscopic. Our bill ended up being 167 dollars for two people and 4 drinks! We were still so hungry when we left that we went to Wendy's and ate a very satisfying meal of .99 cent chicken nuggets. DON'T GO TO BIJANS!!!! Only if you have a couple hundred dollars you just want to give away.    [15 Feb 2006 19:21:01]

What have they done to the interior?
I have been a few times, but it has been awhile. I won't go back. They re-decorated and it looks terrible. Zebra and other animal prints; it is like some eighties nightmare. I could have dealt with it if the food had been been good. Some of the taste combinations seem really amaturish. Never again. There are too many great places I can spend my money.    [17 Aug 2006 00:48:06]
