One of Springfield's Finest...
Flame offers a fine dining experience with an excellent menu, one of the best wine lists in town, romantic atmosphere, and wonderful service. I've been to Flame at least a half-dozen times in the last twelve months and it's almost always been a real pleasure. Flame specializes in aged-beef steaks and a few select seafood items such as Alaskan Crab Legs, Wild Salmon Oscar, and Smoked Trout. Their dry-aged steaks are most excellent and even their ala carte and appetizer menu serves up such dishes as Lobster Macaroni, Oysters Rockefeller, Beef Sashimi, and Smoked Duck Sausage.

Their wine list is quite extensive and located downstairs is their full-service bar, The Red Room Lounge, which offers a significant martini selection and a warm, romantic atmosphere. (The pictures on their website just doesn't do it justice.) The Jungle Boogie Martini is a personal favorite.

Service is generally excellent, so much so, that on the rare occassion when it's not quite up to par, you really notice it. Overall, I'd say that 85% of the time the servers provide an enjoyable dining experience.

Flame's dessert menu is limited and could be improved. Overall, Flame is probably one of the top five restaurants in Springfield. Highly recommended.    [23 Dec 2006 16:12:24]

Flame is consistently the best of Springfield
I go back and forth to Springfield from my home in LA, that I almost consider myself a regular. Business brings me in almost once a month, for about 2 years now.

I started off as a lone diner, opting for the bar rather than a table, and now I am usually accompanied by 2 or 3 other guests. I can tell you the quality from the bar to the table is exceptional every part of the way. It is not often that you see a staff that is as knowledgeable. They know wine, cordials, steaks, seafood, and deliver it with such precision that I have not once had to worry about the service or whether my clients will be pleased.
The selection of wine is great- not too overpriced, but with worldwide selection.

I have been told about the history of the restaurant and its owners, and I have tried one of their other restaurants in town: Bijans and Touch. Bijans is good for seafood, my main attraction is their cigars. But overall, Flame is my favorite. I learn something new everytime I am in there as the staff seems excited to tell. The newer manager (in the last year)- Jen, is fantastic. Ask for her anytime and she'll make it unforgettable.

Can't wait to go back! One drawback is the parking downtown- but at least they try to have their exclusive parking... and I hear they have valet on the weekends.    [07 Feb 2008 22:11:19]
