Best Damn BBQ in the Jackson/Metro Area
Hey, they've got a dining room now! They have for some time now, but if its been a while since you've been you may only remember the two pavilion covered picinic tables and little fountain for washing the hands that graced the outside of the once take-out-only stand in Pocahontas, MS. And what a dining room. It is in the shape of a large Tee Pee, I suppose monopolizing on the name of the town, Pochahontas, and the state historical markered indian mound across highway 49. The place reminds me of an old roadside attraction one might find along highways of days gone by like the "Mammie" diner outside on Natchez, MS, on 61 south. Along the train tracks by the restaurant and on a markee along the road, a couple of signs reads: "Good enough to stop a train" and I have seen it happen"! Very cool place. Kids will love it. I wonder if the friendly ponies are still fenced out in the pasture behind the joint?    [14 Aug 2006 12:54:47]
