Best BBQ in the world & BBQ sauce to die for. This little place was hard to find but boy is it worth the effort! I used to eat at this place when it was in Flowood and after the first bite I refused to eat BBQ anywhere else. Then without warning they closed the Flowood location and I was destroyed because I thought they were gone forever. I went to a few of the other "chain" BBQ places but just as I expected I got dry and bland food. Then while driving down Hwy 80 in Pearl one day, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted them. Just barely because if you arent looking for them you won't see them. They have not closed they only moved! I know its only a BBQ restaurant but for those of us who consider good BBQ a way of life, finding a place like this is like finding gold.
These guys have got BBQ down to a science and the homemade BBQ sauce is simply the best in the world as far as I am concerned and I have eaten BBQ from sea to shining sea. The ribs here are so moist and meaty they just fall off the bone. you can keep your tiny babybacks or your tough preboild fakes these ribs are the real deal!
The place has a small town feel with all kinds of fantastic homemade foods that you just cannot get anymore. They do not just do BBQ beans fries and coleslaw like you get at most BBQ houses either. They have a wide variety of southern dishes like onion rings, chili, turnip greens and deviled eggs. All of it tastes just like granmas sunday dinner.
It is a family owned and run business so if you are in a hurry, call in your order and pick it up because these guys don't rush the food. But if you are like me you know that good food and fast food do not fit into the same sentence. They take their time but believe me its worth the wait.
If you are in the mood for good old fashioned BBQ done to perfection, you owe it to yourself to try them out. I think if you do you will be as loyal a customer as I have become. And try the sauce, I buy it by the gallon and put it on everything. [20 Feb 2006 19:41:56]
