Classy food and succulent drinks! I thoroughly enjoyed my dining and drinking experience at Flatland Grill. The service was excellent too! Live music is always a plus, and great to listen to while you enjoy some fine food and drink. You should definitely stop by here for a good time. [27 Oct 2004 22:43:11]

Great food hidden in plain sight Flatland Grill is right at the corner of US 82 and Park Avenue, but you might not ever know it unless you happen to spot their neon sign at night.
Set in a brick building that looks more office park than cozy restaurant, Flatland Grill is literally hidden in plain sight. It's behind a bank and Burger King in a small office park.
So far, several trips have yeilded nothing but positive results. The steaks are juicy, flavorful and seasoned to perfection. The twice baked potato, loaded with a slice of what appears to be standard Kraft cheese atop, is also very good. It is, however, seafood that Flatland claims to excel at. They do not disappoint.
For a region known for its catfish, Flatland manages to still stand out with their light but crispy breading and heavenly tartar sauce.
A personal favorite is the pasta with crawfish tails - angel hair pasta with plenty of crawfish meat, in a slightly spicy but not overwhelming alfredo sauce.
Keeping up a Delta tradition, they also serve tamales. They were good, but not wonderful. An appetizer that's a winner is the fried onion. It seems every steak place has their own version, but Flatland's is one of the best. Served with a choice of two different sauces, this one puts a certain national steak chain's onion to shame.
On the occasions I've visited, I haven't heard any live music; the bar was piped with classic rock from satellite radio.
Overall, this is a very good place. It's casual but not plain, the kind of place to take friends, business associates or even a date. [22 Apr 2007 02:41:10]
