A very unpleasant experience.
My party of three had a craving for Chinese food, so we decided to try Grand Palace since it is a buffet and close to home.

What a mistake.

On this last visit, the restaurant was somewhat busy and was full of kids running around.

The waitstaff was friendly and prompt. The dining area was fairly clean, as was the buffet area.

The food, however, was not good at all. I was quite disappointed in both the flavor of the food and the quality of the meats. The chicken dishes were stringy and chewy, and the beef dishes tough. The fried rice was OK at best, being rather bland and flavorless. The red sweet and sour sauce was bland and watery. Very disappointing.

Oddly, at no time during my dining experience did I happen to see that staple of Chinese food, the eggroll, on the buffet.

The two other members of my party commented that, on previous visits, the restaurant's food wasn't this bad. Not ever good, mind you, but not bad.

Perhaps this was an "off" night. Sadly, it was so "off" that I will not return.    [27 May 2007 11:23:31]
