Best food in the state This is THE place for fine dining in Mississippi. They've been open since I was in college (18 years ago). I went there when I graduated and have been a fan ever since.
The chefs stay on the cutting edge of what's happening on the food scene.
The fish is as fresh as any you will find.
They have also won many Wine Spectator awards for their wine list.
Excellent and attentive service. [18 Mar 2006 18:40:56]

Good food Purple parrot has good food, the fish is really good and the soft shelled crab; however, be aware that it is pricey. You have to buy each dish by itself. If you can afford the prices, then its a good choice for a special occasion. [18 Oct 2006 13:04:48]

Worth my 100 mile drive I'm going to come back here in two days, only place I've ever actually planned a trip to go eat lunch.
Nothing here costs more than it's worth, just order and enjoy! [16 Apr 2007 15:18:31]

Consistently voted one of the best in Mississippi You can keep driving to New Orleans, but you won't find food any better and will pay a lot more.
The soft-shell crab is the best I have ever eaten.
Excellent fresh fish
The wine list is extensive and moderately priced
I eat there whenever I can [22 Jan 2008 07:39:03]
