This place is fabulous!!! On Friday and Saturday Nights, they have this scrumptious buffet. Best ribs and brisket I've ever eaten, Fried Shrimp and Oysters are fantastic, the Italian vegetables were excellent and do not leave without trying the Pecan Pie. 4**** from my discerning palate! Excellent Mac'n'cheese Typical buffet selection for the area, including country fried pork chops (huge), mac'n'cheese (almost worth a trip in and of itself), boiled cabbage, fried chicken. In my opinion, the dessert selection was weak, but I have somewhat higher standards for desserts on buffets than many people do. The service was reasonable, but don't expect to be waitied on hand and foot; it is a buffet. The floor was probably clean, but the dark walls and concrete made it seem slightly grimey. This is a common feature of local buffets, however. The Movie Star Restaurant is in a reconditioned Movie Star [apparel] factory (hence the name). This moderately interesting bit of local trivia isn't enough to give it a higher rating. [21 Jun 2004 16:46:12]

Best Small Buffet I've Seen! My cousin took us there and I was shocked. It was Friday night, so my daughter enjoyed the shrimp. I didn't know I liked fried oysters until I tried theirs--and went back for a big 2nd helping. My cousin goes there for their fried chicken. The butterbeans were just like my mother would have cooked them. The sweet potato fries were worth the trip and our entire group enjoyed the homestyle banana pudding. The amount of offerings may not rival larger buffets you see in larger towns but the food is more delicious! My daughter considers it the best buffet she's ever eaten at. To bad we live 5 hours away! Amazin' This was an amazing buffet. And I am a fan of southern country cooking, and I am critical, but this knocked my socks off. So much that I had to go back within a week to have it again. Definitely worth the money. I went on a Saturday night for the seafood buffet, and again the following Sunday for lunch. Both were spectacular and offered a wide variety of tasty dishes. The fried chicken was great, as was the homemade potatoes & gravy. And my favorite banana pudding since my grandpa's. [22 Mar 2006 12:14:59]
