The Grove Park Inn is easily North Carolina's best restaurant west of Raleigh, and certainly is among the top in the state.
In addition to regular dining, the Grove Park is known for their Sunday brunch. The times I've been were all outstanding, both in the meal and the service. [15 Dec 2002 20:09:02]

Absolutely Pitiful Poor service, overrated and way overpriced food. Obviously geared to one time customers. There is nothing quaint and romantic about this place anymore. [19 Jul 2004 11:22:17]

Gingerbread Cake I loved the Gingerbread Cake with lemon filling, I wonder it they give out their recipes? I would love to have a copy if possible... [17 Dec 2004 01:29:38]

Grove Park Inn Needs to Quit Riding on It's Past laurels! OK Grove Park Inn, get off that wagon in the past and start paying attention to the needs of your out-of-town guests and local guests! furniture and decor are falling apart. Everything is showing its age.
Dining was expensive and mediocre. The staff were unprofessional and pretentious. The live performance in the lobby is much to be desired and the volume is always exceedingly loud. Hardly an environment for rest and relaxation!
We've also dined at the inn's Horizon. It was exceedingly over-rated and over priced as well. It doesn't deserve the glory it gives itself. I dined at finer restaurants that didn't cost as much or was as pretentious!
I don't mince my words. If an establishment desires to be known as world-class destination for dining and holidaying, it needs to attune itself to the needs of its guests, and it also needs to learn not to over use words like exquisite, superb, and world-class. Management needs to learn what those words really mean before using them! [27 Mar 2005 16:28:28]

Brunch Mother's Day May 14 2006 Fantastic food and superb service. Our server was so attentive and personable. She anticipated every need and desire. Presentation was beautiful. It can only be compared to special cruise presentations and it was much better. Belgian waffles, omelets, and salad bar were fantastic. [19 May 2006 00:44:21]

Repeat Customer I live in Western NC and have been to the Grove Park more times than I can count - birthdays, proms, Mothers Day, just because - and the service and food are always exceptional. Prices for buffets are very reasonable considering all the food in all the rooms. We used to go for special occasions, now we go b/c we can have a great leisurely meal for less than the "nice" restaurants in our town. Plus, you can have a drink by the huge fireplace and listen to music for no charge-what a great night out! [06 Jan 2008 09:36:32]

Been There Once, Won't Be Back for Awhile...and Not Because It Was Bad This has to be one of or the best restaurants in Asheville. Yes it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. There is plenty of ambiance as well as delicious medleys of culinary creations. [26 Feb 2008 22:06:47]
