Occasions on Front St in Burlington NC
This place is on the corner of E. Front and Lexington St. in Burlington, NC. Our organization had their bi monthly meeting there on 11-20-04 (last night). This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had! We had a speaker from Washington DC to talk about the National Archives. Because of the Mexican Wedding Reception in the larger room, and the incrediably LOUD, Mexican music, we could not converse with our dinner companions and we could not hear our speaker. There were not enough seats for the dinner guest, our drinks were served out of PLASTIC cups! For this we paid $20.00 per person! If your organization is planning on renting this place for your event, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. We will never attend an event here again!    [21 Nov 2004 11:54:22]

I went at lunch when they have a buffet. The food is good ole Southern homestyle and is great! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was more than I expected. I highly recommend it.    [15 Feb 2005 09:59:19]

This Place is AWESOME
We recently attended a graduation party at Occasions and the food and service was fabulous! The tea and lemonade were the best my family has ever had!!!

If you want great food and great service you've got eat at Occasions!

Also, the employees and management are wonderful and honest people (which is sometimes hard to find these days!).

Thanks, The Cox family, Kingsport, TN    [25 May 2005 21:06:58]

Soul Food Sunday
'Soul Food Sunday' is what I hear it called. I love eating there every Sunday. The atmosphere is great! They have to best veggies I've had since when granny use to cook. What a superb replacement of granny's home cooking.    [17 Jan 2006 14:49:29]

April 2007
Our group has had the opportunity to eat at this establishment several times. We were excited to take an employee there when he was leaving the establishment where we had worked together for over 2 years. Well everything was o.kay until about the end of our outing. The honoree wanted some cream potatoes to take home (willing to pay). We asked our server what the price would be, and no doubt she didn't know, so she in turn went to confer with someone on the management staff. To my disbelief the entire outing went down hill from there. The waitress undoubtly did not report the story correctly, the manager, in which we had known for quite sometime, didn't come to see what we were wanting, but instead sent an associate that I had never seen in the establishment in all my visits. So the story goes on and on...But the end result was they didn't sell us the cream potatoes. And to top off that story we finished the meal and we are ready to pay, while walking to the cash register that is located near the exit and entrance door, our group was laughing about something. Because of the place we work on Wednesday's. they give a discount, so the older lady that handles the cash register heard us laughing coming to the register, so she in turn ask for our badges from where we work, (mind you she has never asked for this information before) so some of us had our badges and some didn't, so she refused to believe we all work for the same establishment and was extremely rude to our honoree for the evening. For all those reasons we decided not to patronize Occasions in the future. I would rather give my money to a homeless person than eat there again.    [20 Jul 2007 10:54:48]
