A good Japanese restaurant, even though it's sequestered in the food court-like strip mall of a shopping center. - CitySearch, Dana Terebelski - suggest change

DON'T GO! Didn't like the food. The sushi was overpriced and less than average. The service was horrible and the waitstaff was quite rude! [19 Feb 2005 10:35:05]

Good food, and one of the only real Japanese restaurants. If you want *real* Japanese food in the Triangle area, this one of the most authentic restaurants in the area. In addition to sushi and tempura dishes, the restaurant also server many other authenticdishes such as nabe (boiled vegitables and meat in small pot).
I live in Japan, so when I go to Kashin, the taste and style feels like Japan. However, some of the fish is different. I have never seen flounder sushi in Japan. :-)
I like the sushi from the bar the most. The Nabe is good. The udon is good. Don't order Oyako-don (Chicken & egg over rice in a bowl). Most times they added too much joice that just kills the flavor. :-p I still haven't tried many of the other dishes from the kitchen yet. Maybe on my next trip back to RDU.
It is a small restaurant, so depending on the time and the day of the week, it can get crowded. You may have to wait a little longer during the peak time. It's a great place for good food and a place to relax with friends.
Finally, if you don't trust me, just look around to see how many Japanese people are also eating there. :-) [01 Feb 2006 21:20:54]
