Our Second Visit to K&W, Chapel Hill, NC
Unbelievably bad. My husband had Salisbury steak and rice, mac and cheese and pecan pie. The mac and cheese had been sitting for hours and was so dry, it was inedible. I had turkey and dressing - frankly, our dog's food and StoveTop stuffing would have had more flavor and integrity. The green beans were too salty to eat (second week in a row for that). The 7 layer salad had a foreign object. In addition, there were only 3 soft rolls left - very small and squashed. My husband asked for fresh. The server was rude, rolled her eyes and wouldn't give him an answer. We will not go there again and wish we had our $12.00 back!!    [24 Jul 2003 17:36:13]

What can I say? K&W used to be "off da hook." It seems now that the good folks there have forgotten where they come from! I had a similar experience to the reviewer above. I've been coming there for years, mostly after church. I used to enjoy the Whiting, Chicken Fingers, 7 layer salad, and garlic rolls. But last time I went there, I found a dead cockroach in my iced tea! And let me tell you something, friend, that tea tasted TERRIBLE! Steer clear of this big stinker, friends, and I'll catch you next time, but not at K&W.    [17 Jul 2005 16:01:33]
