Best Chinese Food in Durham Area
I've eaten in a lot of Chinese restaurants in the Triangle. Some are quite good; others are barely passable. The good ones have diverse ingredients and authentic flavors; the bad ones have few veggies, low quality meat and overly sweet sauces.

Shanghai is at least in the top three of Chinese restaurants in the area (along with Hunan on Guess Rd. & Neo-China), and is probably the very best of the lot.

Whether eating in or carrying out, their food is always of exemplary quality: fresh and diverse, with well seasoned sauces that are never overly sweet. Their lunch specials are a great bargain, but their dinner entrees can each easily feed two people.

The restaurant itself is a hidden gem, with unrivaled aesthetics and a pleasant, subdued ambiance. Service is infallibly good.    [13 Aug 2007 23:44:08]
