Decided to try it again after a few years About three years ago we decided to try the Bay Breeze for the first time. The parking lot was crowded. Surely a good sign. WRONG! The place was crowded and noisy, the service unbelievably slow and all the seafood was fried. Never again, we vowed. I then noticed a menu in our new (2007) telephone book and they listed grilled fish and oysters on the half-shell on the menu. Sounded like it was worth revisiting. This time it was still crowded, but not noisy and the service was fairly good. The food though? Bleech! The grilled fish we ordered was overseasoned and barely edible. I foolishly ordered a dozen oysters. They were served on the half-shelll but I'd swear the oysters came out of a jar! For the they charged for these bivalves they should be ashamed. I assumed I'd get sick from the oysters, but luckily I didn't. Sorry, the "Bay Breeze" is on our permanently-banned list. [04 Feb 2007 14:49:08]

Only One Step Above We have visited the Bay Breeze three of four times in the last year in hopes that things would get better - but it hasn't. If you like over-cooked, deep fried, poorly presented fish and seafood - this is the place to go. The place is often crowded, very noisy, and far from the cleanest place we have been. Prices are relatively cheap - but at this joint, you get what you pay for. [21 Feb 2007 09:23:21]

Not gourmet, but good! The food here is plain ol' southern-style seafood.
The fried items are excellent, but I don't usually order those (I'm attempting to maintain my girlish figure without really exercising). The broiled salmon is fine, but order it plain and tell them to leave it pink on the inside. The broiled tilapia is also fine and *not* over seasoned, as described by the previous two reviewers. I typically order fish without seasoning because, in most other restaurants in the area, it is usually salt-encrusted; but I accidentally ordered here without my typical caveat -- it was fine ... and has been ever since.
Order the small sizes of dishes unless you have a behemoth appetite. [18 Apr 2007 20:28:02]

I'm a jumbo fried shrimp lover, and they sure know how to fix it at Bay Breeze Seafood. We eat there at least once a month and continue to go back because the food is always very tasty and hot, the service is always fast, the prices are reasonable, and there's a variety of food for land and seafood lovers. Plus, they have added new appetizers and entrees to their menu. I especially like their lobster bisque. Keep in mind we try not to go during peak hours when parking or service may be lacking. I hope this helps and enjoy the sweet tea (like mama used to make it)!!! [14 May 2007 14:12:50]

My wife and I ate at the Bay Breeze tonight and we thought it was great. All that we ordered tasted wonderful and there was lots of it. The portions they serve are definitely on the large size. Go hungry! [08 Jul 2007 18:44:50]

Good food; good value We are locals and eat there once a month or so.I find the service is always great. The salads are good with a great ranch dressing. I like to get the catfish sandwich and ask for hushpuppies instead of the bun. Then I have a catfish dinner that fits my appetite. Otherwise, their servings are huge - best shared by two unless you have a bigggg appetite. The restaurant is clean, nice and the prices are very reasonable. If you don't like fried seafood, you may not like this place. [28 Jul 2007 11:29:16]

Bay Breeze Lunch I am also a local. I eat at Bay Breeze several times a month with relatives or friends for lunch. Their lunch is comparable in size to their dinner portions, but so affordable! They have lunch specials (through the week only)for $3.99 to about $5.99 or so, white fish, tilapia, flounder, etc. It's a wonderful lunch for a wonderful price. [03 Sep 2007 12:42:59]

We arrived about 5:30 PM. Parking was no problem. We were seated promptly. The restaurant was neat and clean. The wait staff was courteous and prompt. I order a broiled 2 combination platter. My husband ordered a fried 2 combination platter. Both were very good, were not over-cooked nor were they highly seasoned. The portions were indeed generous. We will return. [24 Sep 2007 21:31:40]
