Succulence in the Cellar! My son and I ate here on a Saturday night in August. There was outdoor eating (but below street level...thus the 'cellar' bit), but we ate indoors where there was a jazz trio. Fortunately, we had reservations, as at the 7:30 time the place was close to full, though almost empty by the time we left, except for the bar area. The atmosphere was most pleasant, and we both found our dishes to be excellent in both presentation and taste. I had the Cajun Two-Step, which was Jambalya surrounded by Shrimp Creole with three fried shrimp on top. The creole sauce was superb! My son had stuffed flounder, and he found it quite tasty. For appetizers we had a cup of gumbo (acceptable but not outstanding) and some alligator. Neither of us cared for the reptilian fare! [11 Aug 2003 17:34:47]

Cool Place This is one of our favorite places to go on Main Street. I have only had 1 negative experience there, when the eggplant was gross and the waitress told us that "most people don't eat the eggplant, they just eat the part that it is stuffed with." But...I have been there a bunch of times and the food is always great. [05 Feb 2004 10:50:15]

The best of the best!!! We were lucky enough to be in town and accidentally find the place. We couldn't have come on a bettter night, because they happened to be celebrating Mardi Gras. The air outside was filled with the kick of Old Bay from the shrimp and crawdads they were boiling up outside.
There were about eight of us in our party and everyone liked what they ordered. But what made it was the hospitality. From our waitress (Casha?) to the owner, Renee we couldn't have asked to be treated any better. I will be making the trip from South Carolina to Cypress Cellar again. [08 Feb 2005 09:17:48]

Lunch at Cypress Cellar Had lunch at Cypress Cellar and loved the food. Susan had Oysters Bienville (YUM) and Ron had the Cajun Two-Step (YUM also). Good value for money! We'll be back.
Service a little slow, but we hit a busy time. [25 Feb 2006 17:14:48]

Cypress Cellar The food is good but what really stands out are the great drinks. My favorite bartender always remembers what I drink before I sit down. [22 Mar 2006 09:42:11]

Lunch at the Cellar Carrie had a small cup of shrimp bisque and a small plantation salad, I had a large plantation salad with blackened chicken. As always great "Baby Doll". If you must have only one desert - have the bread pudding! Great service, Great staff, Great place. [19 Apr 2006 17:02:04]
