Very Up-Town Sort of Place Nothing else like it in Hendersonville. Interesting dishes, reasonably priced, sophisticated decor, excellent service, extensive wine list, and just a sort of fun feeling being there. [21 Jun 2004 12:59:06]

Flee from Flight While Flight is lovely to look at, it does not live up to its appearance. At a recent dinner with several friends, the service was exceedingly slow despite the restaurant being only partially full. One had to beg to get a glass of wine and then our meals were not served at the same time thus forcing one to choose whether to ignore all manners and eat while others could not, or let your fairly expensive dinner cool to the point of being inedible. Despite requesting the lamb be served medium rare, it was served barely seared. After asking that it be cooked a bit more, it reappeared next to a gray glob that was supposed to be bok choy after the other diners at the table had finished their meals. After several requests, the manager finally appeared to offer an unwanted dessert but was firm that she would do no more. This restaurant might be nice for a drink but not for dinner. Good food, great atmosphere but... Nothing can ruin a dining experience like a teenage hostess managing the seating. Flight is as good as any upscale restaurant in food preparation and atmosphere but the wait people could just as well be working at Outback. What a shame. [16 Jan 2006 09:08:58]

Upscale and Worth It Greatlooking place. Reminds me of something you would find in New York or Boston. I have eaten there several times and food has been well prepared. The negative review I've read is totally out of line with my experiences. My only complaint might be the young staff who may be less sophisticated than one would expect in a place that looks so trendy. [03 Mar 2006 13:08:50]

Memorable 25th Anniv. Dinner Despite arriving without reservations, we were seated with almost not wait on the Mezzanine level overlooking the main dining room. The hanging mobile of birds drifting on the aircondioned winds added a nice quality to the "Flight" theme of the restaurant. Our server was courteous and helpful through out the evening. I selected a modest champagne (Argyle/Oregon) from the list to toast our 25th Anniversary with our guests. There was a slight delay in bringing it to the table (saying it needed to be chilled more). I had the chilled peach soup as an appetizer and it was wonderful... VERY smooth and the addition of a dry champagne kept the sweetness of the fresh peaches from being too much. Entrees ordered were the duck and pork tenderloin. Except for a slight mixup in delivering the plates to the correct recipient, everything was in order. The pork was very tender and moist, not dry at all. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. There was no rush from our server and we had a throughly enjoyable meal. Prices were quite reasonable. All in all, it was a very nice evening and I look forward to dining at "Flight" on a return trip to Hendersonville. [01 Aug 2006 11:08:40]

One of My Favorite Restaurants The best duck in town - they also know how to make a great cosmo martini. [25 Nov 2006 17:21:14]

Best Restaurant in Hendersonville! This place is terrific! The food was beautifully presented and delicious, our waitress was poised and attentive, and the atmosphere is classy and upscale. My husband and I celebrated his birthday there, and it was as special as we had hoped. We now have a new, distinctive restaurant to take our out-of-town guests to! [11 Jan 2007 20:26:58]

The best dining experience we ever had in N.C.! My wife and I like nice things but this was a cut above for this area. From what I read from here everyone agrees the food and appiriance of flights is tops. We must have gotten lucky becuase we had an awsome meal wonderful servicer and some of the best wine we have had for this area ever. I believe her name was Sarita and let me tell you we left feeling special and important. Yes it was pricey but when get that kind of service it's going to cost you. Now don't over book my waitress folks! [04 Feb 2007 17:30:56]

Food and service wonderful, manager not so wonderful My husband and I visited Flight for the first time on Valentine's Day. Being prepared for a nice romantic dinner, we were seated at a table just outside the kitchen door and next to the grill area. We did have reservations. We immediately knew that this was not a good location due to the noise coming from the kitchen and grill area. We asked our server to move us to another table. The manager came over and said that wasn't possible as all the other tables were reserved. Duh - we had reservations too. There were many empty tables. She then proceeded to tell us that our location wouldn't be so bad. At this point it was principle for us. We told our server that she could either move us to another table or we would find another restaurant to spend our evening. We were moved to a table upstairs where we enjoyed a wonderful meal. Our service was outstanding and the food was wonderful. The manager wasn't very smart! Probably won't go there again. [15 Feb 2007 09:39:42]
