Best Chinese Food in Town Until recently, Great Wall did in fact have a noticeable flaw: while the service was quick, the employees were fairly rude, particularly a young boy who works at the counter and would ask "What do you want?" in apparent annoyance. However, that has changed, leaving the restaurant with little to nothing in the way of weaknesses.
The food arrives quickly and hot; the portions are large enough for two to eat. The "hot and spicy" dishes are not as hot and spicy as some might like, but they taste good and the dishes that should be marked in such a manner are. Eight varieties of fried rice are available; variety is comparable in other areas of the menu such as egg foo young and lo mein.
Side items, such as egg rolls and rice, are inexpensive. A pint of white rice is 85 cents, while a pork egg roll is a dollar and three fortune cookies are 50 cents. Special dinner combos, for more than one person, are $13.95 for two people and about $7 for each additional person-- each meal comes with an egg roll, plain fried rice, and soda, and there are ten choices for each person's dish.
Before the service improved, my mother and I often chose to go to other restaurants in the area, but even then we often found ourselves going to Great Wall because the food there is simply better than that of any other Chinese restaurants in the area. Now that the employees are more polite, there is little question of where we will go. [18 Jun 2000 21:24:06]

The food is great in the fast food place and the restaurant service was great. The people checked on me every five minutes. [08 May 2003 08:31:05]

The buffet is good Two of my closest friends and i have gone there every sunday since, well, since we heard about it. It is without quesiton the best kept seceret in the town of kernersville. So, if you got $5.50 and an appreciation for Chinese food, then this is the spot to be every afternoon except Saturday, from 11 to 2:45. [17 Nov 2003 17:42:10]

Great Food I'm from New Jersey, so I am very particular about the restaurants I eat at in the south. I have found The Great Wall to be one of the best Chinese food restaurants out here.
As to the comment made earlier, the customer service still stinks. When you call into order, they tend to rush me off the phone without me asking what I wanted to ask, in turn forcing me to call back to find out how long, how much, and to throw some chop sticks in the bag.
Despite the rudeness, I continue to go back because the food is EXCELLENT! [17 Mar 2007 19:19:00]
