Dirty Dick's The name is suiting after watching an employee not wash his hand after using the bathroom. I would advise not eating here. [19 Apr 2003 00:39:16]

Great Food Despite the Name Went in to buy t-shirts & the salesgirl talked us into eating lunch. We brought the family back for dinner the next night! Great food and friendly people. Try the grilled oysters! [11 Dec 2003 10:43:36]

$80 for French Fries We went to Dirty Dick's in Avon for a light lunch. Their menu is pretty limited; we ended up ordering a crab claws meal, a shrimp and scallop combo and I ordered an $11. salad that included (supposedly) crab claws. I did note on the menu that you could ask for a larger salad in the neighborhood of $19.95. What a disappointment! There was barely ANY seafood on any of our meals. My salad had four of the tiniest crab claws I had ever seen. All of us were terribly disappointed. We were absolutely SHOCKED when we got our tab. I was charged $19.95 for my salad, which was 75% iceberg lettuce. We ran out of there like rats off a sinking ship, all the while our waitress was trying to convince us to order coffee and desserts. We had been gigged enough. Don't waste your hard earned money. Go to Food Lion, buy yourself some real seafood and some iceberg lettuce and save yourself about $75!! [12 Apr 2004 18:20:17]

Dirty Dick's Crab House in Avon, NC The food is good but pricey. But this is true of most of the restaurants on the Outer Banks. Dining room could be arranged better. A lot of tables crammed into a small space and the specials on chalk board on the wall. Difficult to see specials when behind you. Being brought the ingredients to make your own cocktail sauce was a good touch. [17 Dec 2006 00:30:50]

Semi-pricey but good I found the place to have excellent food, but the menu was a bit confusing. The 5.99 lunch specials were not listed and I didn't ask, so ended up with a full priced entree. The staff was great and the waitress was one of the best I've had. [09 Jun 2007 17:11:04]
