Fantastic My husband and I recently drove many miles out of our way to eat dinner in this restaurant we enjoyed so very much about 8 years ago. It was just as good as we remembered. [01 Dec 2003 17:09:41]

Best in the South I've been going to Granny's for as long as I've been visiting the Southern Appalachians. Although the lines can get long, the food has always been worth the wait. If you're in the neighborhood, it's one place you'll want to eat! [29 Apr 2004 15:15:18]

Colonal Sanders...Eat Your Heart Out Absolutely the best fried chicken I have ever tasted! Tender, succulent and moist. Take that to heart from a 57 year Southern Fried Chicken eater from way back. Forget the service, ambiance and assorted goodies. It's the chicken, pilgrim! [30 Aug 2004 09:35:11]

We Love Granny's This is the most wonderful chicken ever. It really tastes like a good ole southern granny's home cooking. We always make Granny's the first supper of our mountain trip each year. I hope it never closes. [25 Jan 2005 22:22:30]

Best Damn Chicken I love Granny's. Every time I'm in town, I stop by and get a bite to eat. This place is kickass! When you stop by ask for the man in the back named Joe. He is the nicest person there and I hear he is going to run the place very soon, so when your there give him some new ideas. [13 Apr 2006 10:32:07]

Great Food - Lukewarm Staff Yes, the food is really good; the spicy chicken is fab! But the people who run this place have always been a little snobby in my opinion. I live in Myrtle Beach, and my husband runs a tourist attraction here. We always at least try to make people feel welcome. They should try harder; they act like they wish we'd all just go away. We won't be back. [13 Sep 2006 20:10:37]

Great Chicken First time we went to Granny's they were waiting before the doors opened. The food was fantastic and we couldn't stop talking about how great it was. The next year we went back food was still good, the third time we were disappointed. The food was ok; the service was, let's say, not very helpful. I asked for a refill on my sweet tea 3 times before I finally got it. My husband wanted more chicken cause he doesn't like rice, and wishes they had mashed potatoes too. Anyway they really didn't want to give him more. Very disappointing. [23 Jun 2007 16:49:46]

Beautiful Place but Ugly People My family and I had the misfortune and displeasure of visiting Granny's Chicken Palace. We ordered the famous "Fried Chicken." However, we were greeted with cold looks and attitude. We were further subjected to receiving cold food after patiently waiting for over 30 minutes or more. I was very upset about the contradiction of Lake Junaluska, for it is a beautiful place but it is polluted with people that have ugly attitudes, behavior, and are very inhospitable. Next year when I return to the Holston Conference I will make sure that no one else will have to be subjected to this kind of service. I have made several attempts to contact the owner, yet I have been passed off to "Janice" and my complaints have been ignored and brushed aside. [28 Jun 2007 17:24:00]
