VERY OVERPRICED
We had read some positive reviews (though there were some negative ones) about The Purple Onion in Saluda, NC. While in Saluda, we decided to give it a try. Boy were we disappointed. The Owner and staff was very unfriendly and the prices were ridiculous because the food was mediocre at best. And to top it off, we were completely rushed through our meal. We waited about fifteen minutes to even be greeted and once we were seated, it was their goal to rush us out of there. When we tried to talk to the Owner about it, she was very rude and dismissive to us. We won't go there again.    [22 Jun 2008 12:47:41]

The atmosphere at the Purple Onion is cool but the employees ruined it.

We were sitting at the bar and overheard some of the employees gossiping while we were trying to enjoy ourselves. My wife had just lost her father and was grieving about it so I took her out to hear some music because I wanted to cheer her up. Thanks to the employee for saying nasty things about my wife's outfit. I've heard before that this place is so fake and I believe it now!    [11 Jan 2009 17:12:27]
