It has a cowboy atmosphere. The employees are very friendly, and the service is superb. The waiters were very helpful, and had all of the answers to your questions. The food arrived fresh from the kitchen, and still warm. I tried their buffalo burgers, tomato macaroni soup, caramel rolls, bacon, eggs, pancakes, and french toast. Everything was to my liking. I would recommend this resturant to anybody! [09 Aug 2004 18:55:46]

We have been going to Medora every year for many, many years, probably about 12 years. We have eaten at the Cowboy cafe every time we go. Therefore we have tried most of their dishes. The food and service are great. Our only wish is that the cafe is larger, because sometimes you cannot even get in there to eat. [11 Mar 2007 18:52:25]

Hometown Cafe Each spring the residents of Medora eagerly await the opening of the Cowboy Cafe. For homemade soups, pies, burgers, and good old fashioned home cooking, it can't be beat. Be sure to try the caramel rolls for breakfast -- big enough to share, but you won't want to! [15 May 2007 12:58:24]

HOMEMADE & GREAT We have visited the Cowboy Cafe at least yearly for over 13 years now - sometimes more often - and the consistency is amazing.
The food tastes SO good. Not over-seasoned or over-fancy. I KNOW the dinner rolls and caramel rolls are made from scratch (I have SEEN the bread dough raising in the kitchen!!!)
The soups are as good as they come and not the prepackaged ones you get in other places around the town -- they are homemade too.
When we are in Medora, ND we do not eat at any other place -- because we are always satisfied with the Cowboy Cafe. But I do agree with another writer who wished it was bigger...the reputation of the cafe exceeds its capacity -- because MANY people are willing to stand in line for a seat and a meal.
