Best chili dogs in USA - you can't beat it. Family friendly. Place is Family owned. Get a pop in ice cold bottle, a chocolate shake, homemade fries, and 2 dogs! Food is unique and great tasting. Service is hometown style. Ambiance is 50's style with authenticity.    [15 Aug 2005 12:57:46]

Coney Island
Gus remembers who you are no matter how long it has been since you've been in -- he remembers us since we were little kids wanting ice cream cones! I love the fact thats it is family owned and that you never feel out of place -- only feel welcomed! Me and my family will always enjoy a great coney dog! One of My Favorites
When my Mom and Dad took me to the Coney the first time -- 50 years ago -- who would have known it would be a place I would always return to. It was great then and still the same today. I've traveled the world and eaten different foods but once you have one of Gus' dogs you'll always come back. We live in Oregon now and while visiting "back East" we always stop at least once per trip. I would pay to get the Coney Sauce recipe!    [02 May 2007 17:43:20]

Best Ever
Last year driving through in more then 2 decades. I stopped at the Coney Island. Gus not only remembered my brother who stops in from time to time but also our Mother who worked there in the early 1940's. Family owned since the mid 30's. My Vacation Spot
For 38 years I have been eating Coney's. When I go back to GI for a visit, the Coney Island is always on my agenda. In June I, my friends and grand daughter & husband ate there 3 times and I even brought coneys back to MO to my brother and his wife. They were WONDERFUL!
