Murphy's is the Best I think that Murphy's is the the best pub/restaurant that I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot. The service is great, and the people are very nice. The atmosphere of the whole restaurant makes you feel like you are in Ireland with all the old antiques, and just the Irish feeling of the place. But what I like most about Murphy's is the pub. The pub at Murphy's has a great feeling that you immediately feel the second that you walk in the room, I can't describe it, but it will keep you coming back. Another thing that I like about Murphy's is there wide range of foods on their menu. I have been going to Murphy's all my life, and I have only ordered two different foods there, the Bacon Cheeseburger, and their Caesar Salad, but there are plents of other things on the menu. If you want, you can order a cup of soup, or you can choose from their seafood menu, or you can just order fries (which are the best in the U.S.). I think the combination of good food, good atmosphere, and good staff makes this one of the finest restaurant/pub's in the U.S. [29 Apr 2004 20:32:42]

Overrated Murphy's is usually reviewed quite well, but the food is mediocre. It is a great place to go for a beer--it is a step above 5 Olde Tavern bar down the street and a more relaxed and homey environment than the upscale Canoe Club--the only other bars in town. If you're a vegetarian, steer clear, and in general avoid international dishes. The pad thai I had was sickly sweet, with gooey rice noodles, and none of the traditional sweet/sour flavor. Stick to nachos and their quite acclaimed burger or beef stew and you'll be fine. Remember, this is an "Irish pub"--go elsewhere if you want something other than beer and run of the mill fare. Not Much to Say I recently went to Murphy's for a birthday party. I haven't got much to say about anything they offer. Most of their food tastes like it comes precooked. Their portion sizes are also far too small to justify the prices they charge. Dartmouth Dining Services food is better than this. Molly's down the street is far better. [21 Nov 2005 01:56:17]

Overrated! I have to agree with one of the previous reviews--this place is mediocre, at best. I have eaten at Murphy's several times when looking for a quick meal and other restaurants had 1/2 hour wait. The burgers are quite good, but nothing spectacular. I have had their fish&chips, but was quite disappointed (fish was overcooked and fries were cold, their version of tartar sauce had almost no flavor). My wife had the turkey burger--very salty! Service and beer were good though! [29 Oct 2006 16:54:19]
