yuck
Way overpriced for what you get. Extremely limited menu. You pay for the view, which is quite nice, but that's about all that's nice about this place.    [02 Nov 2005 12:54:40]

Not the Greatest
A group of us went almost an hour from Nashua NH to the Pondview in Kingston, NH for a holiday dinner. We haven't been to this place in 10 yrs. The ambiance is nice but, very close together. We were put in a back room to be sitted. Very crowded. Took a long time for the waitress to take our drink order and give us bread. At one point another waitress came to our table and just grabbed our menus for another table. She told us to share the menus. Well, we ordered the main meals and when they came out everything was COLD. They ran out of the vegetable of the night so they gave us a total of $5 off the bill for all six people.. WOW.. this place has gone down hill BIG TIME    [18 Dec 2005 08:12:06]

We went to the Pondview on New Years eve. I was feeling ill right after we got served, then I passed out at the table and my husband had them call an ambulance. The owners came and asked my husband to pay the check and also told him I would have to move out to the entrance way. They did not care if I was able to be moved or not. They were very rude and uncaring.    [30 Mar 2006 15:11:07]

Setting lovely, service terrible, food fair
We haven't been for a few years now because: A group of us went and it took FOREVER to get our apps and cocktails. Then when we finally ordered our main meals and we don't see our waitress for at least another 1/2 hour. Then we view a large tray with seemingly similar food that we ordered, sitting for 10 minutes. When we finally grab somebody to inquire...low and behold they pick up that waiting tray and bring it to our table. Well of course the food was cold. So now we raise our issues with the hostess/owner: 1. Our waitress fell off the face of the earth and 2. Our cold food. She tells us (quote) "Your waitress has a baby in her belly and she's not feeling well". (Well then, duh-get someone else to help her out) Then she tells us our apps are on the house. So we finally get heated food and go ahead and order desserts(from a different server now because our waitress has not returned to our table). We eat, settle up the bill and are finishing our drinks. THE FINAL STRAW- When we paid the check with cash we included ample tip for the disappearing waitress because we felt sorry for her(even though she never returned to our table and was still working). Now the hostess comes back and tells us we were given the wrong check and brings another check. Yet, when we had scanned the original check we saw all our exact dinner orders. So now we question the odds of another table ordering the exact meals. Ah, ha...the real story, she tells us, is they had neglected to add on the desserts. What? Here's the kickerThere was enough money given to cover the desserts. So now we are angry...Any good establishment would have comped the desserts given our series of mishaps. BUT THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO FIRST LIE ABOUT IT AND THEN ASK FOR MORE MONEY WHEN THERE WAS ENOUGH THERE TO BEGIN WITH!!! Well guess what...they lost 6 potential repeat customers who will NEVER go back and the waitress got about a 5.00 tip on a substantial check, and this story being told and retold to anyone who brings up going out to dinner or the PONDVIEW.    [30 Dec 2006 11:50:28]

Under New Managenmemt 11/08
Great ambiance, food was excellent. Started with Pondview Pate with crustini bread which was excellent. Had King Prime Rib, outstanding and finished with creme broullet. Would recommend to anyone wanting a great meal in friendly surroundings with good service.    [08 Dec 2008 21:14:53]

Very Disappointed
Went to Rick's Pondview for Valentine's Day and were very disappointed. The seats were uncomfortable, the table was too small and the service was slow. Our waitress removed our water glasses instead of filling them so we had to ask for water. I noticed the other waitresses didn't seem friendly at all...and never smiled. We ordered the prime rib which was very fatty and undercooked. The baked potato was ok but seemed a bit overcooked. The only thing I enjoyed was the ceasar SIDE salad (which you would think would be included in the price with your meal, especially steak, but it was extra). We ate in the main dining room which had a beautiful fireplace but it wasn't lit so the room seemed a bit "cold". I just wasn't impressed by this place at all. I've had much better prime rib at a lower price at another place. I wouldn't recommend Pondview to anyone.    [15 Feb 2009 00:28:37]
