The little place that offers big satisfaction The is truly one of the best restaurants in the New England area. They offer a variety of meals, including beef, chicken, and seafood. The atmosphere is quaint and casual, and the waiting area is full of free popcorn, cheese, crackers, and games to keep ones mind off the wait. The drinks from the bar are generous and the entre price are right (average 7$ a meal). Overall, a great dining experience for a variety of tastes. [30 Nov 2002 13:39:36]

With the new owners we hope they will bring back the French dip sandwoch, the chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce, they were excellent.
My wife and Iwere raised in Rochester but now live in Pa. However, wee go back to N.H. every eyar and enjoy the 103 as do our grown children. Joe & Pat [25 Jan 2004 09:10:09]

My all time favorite This is the best restaurant in the area. We like to go when it is crowded. The "waiting" area upstairs is a great place to hang out for a few drinks/snacks/games prior to dinner. The food, staff, and atmosphere is excellent. The specials are innovative and tasty. [10 Mar 2004 14:36:31]

Great restaurant Great little restaurant with excellent food. Huge selection with lots to choose from, I have never had a bad meal. Food is very reasonable priced and always fresh and delicious. Great bar too with lots of beer on tap to choose from. [12 May 2005 20:13:48]

Just love the 103 Great value, something for the whole family, will cater to kids with wholesome choices: grilled chicken tenders, steamed broccoli or carrots, with pasta or rice side dish, not just fried choices for todays kids. Great salads, topped with grilled shrimp, scallops, or salmon! [20 Jul 2005 22:10:27]

Changes over the years The 103 has since had an owner change. They do not offer free cheese and crackers anymore. They have cut back on generous drinks. And they try to hurry you out of there. I was a Friday night regular for years everybody knew everybody. It has done a 180 degree turn it is said. [12 Aug 2005 14:15:06]

Very good service and food This little place tends to be a bit noisy however, this adds to it's charm rather than takes away from the ambiance. You really get the feeling of sitting down to the table with a huge family here! Partly due to the friendly service! As previously stated, the atmosphere is quaint and casual yet, the food and drink are first rate. [01 Nov 2005 23:39:30]

Wonderful....just plain wonderful I have been going to this restaurant since it was the Fox and Hound back in the early 70's, and it IS and HAS ALWAYS BEEN "The Best" place to go for delicious food and drinks at reasonable prices in Rochester...
Rochester has a lot of mom and pop style restaurants, but none truly compare to "The 103".
They have a good menu selection to please even the little ones! [29 Nov 2005 16:59:18]
Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: From prime rib to steak, nachos to chicken enchiladas, this place has it all... Specialty dishes adorn the 'Special Of The Day Board' each day, offering delicious choices from quiches, salads, soups and main dishes. Through the years I have tried them all and have not had one meal that I didn't truly LOVE! Their ribs are to die for, and now that I live in NC and have had the ribs down here, I REALLY know what good ribs are! Don't miss this fine gem of a restaurant...It doesn't look like much from the outside, but IT IS!!!

Going downhill This used to be the place to eat and relax in the Rochester area. Not any more. The high prices, watered-down drinks and spotty food quality have resulted in folks trying other places. Hopefully ownership and management will quickly realize that their snooty attitude needs changing, and that customers do not need to go there....they have to make us want to go there. My favorite place in the area Whether its good appetizers, seafood, steak or ribs, fish or soup, you can get it all right here.
I have been frequenting this restaurant since before it was The 103, and the food has always been fantastic. Every time I come to NH to visit I always stop in for a meal with friends.
My favorites are the Prime Rib, Chicken Enchilada, Nachos, and the Toll House Pie with ice cream is my absolute favorite dessert in the world.
The place isn't real big, and the atmosphere is cozy... There is a lounge area that takes up half the restaurant, and then a smaller room for dining next to it, off the main dining room... Great for taking co-workers, family, friends, dates and kids!
The staff is friendly and helpful. I never in the 30 something years I lived in Rochester had a bad meal here. (Let's see, that's back to the day when it was The Fox And Hound :) . If you go in at lunch time the place is full of business associates from all over town... The #1 place for a delicious lunch!
Go here and try it.. You won't be disappointed!!! [16 Mar 2007 23:20:09]
