Good, but don't try to customize
We ate at W.L. Goodfellows for the second time a month ago. The first experience was great. They have good fish and chips, and the burgers are nice and juicy. The last time, however, we asked to make a change to their appetizer platter. All we wanted was to substitute chicken fingers instead of wings, and we wanted the buffalo wing sauce with the fingers. We have done this countless times in other restaurant and it was always "can do" with no problem whatsoever. Unfortunally Goodfellows waitress said they couldn't do it. I thought maybe she didn't have the authority to make the change so we asked to speak to the manager.. I mean, they have buffalo wings, they have chicken tenders, even if they were to put the sauce on the side. I know we weren't asking for that much. When the manager came out she too said, "can't do." It really took me by surprise... even the manager couldn't make this small change? When I asked why, she said, because it's all "prepared" ahead of time. Then it finally dawned. It must be purchased elsewhere and not made there. That's the only explanation of their adamant refusal to make a customer happy. Goodfellows left a bad taste in my mouth. There are plenty of restaurants out there that "can do" I don't need to go to a "can't do" establishment again.    [25 Feb 2006 14:43:32]

Still great after all these years
I've been going to Goodfellows since High School. I've since graduated college and still visit a few times a week. The food is great and consistent! That is the key with me, I've been to too many places where the taste or quality change from week to week. Awesome beer list.
