Best Food in Bayonne! A hidden gem! I said to my fiance "lets give it a try". It opened last year, we haven't been yet, and I am always willing to try something new. We invited our immediate family for a post Ballet recital dinner for our daughter. I was somewhat nervous bringing our family to a place we have never eaten at. We walked in, the staff was friendly, but I could tell they were a little green. I was skeptical when first seated because it seemed as though the waitstaff needed a little more training at being more attentive to the needs of their guests. Regardless, the food more than made up for the shortcomings of the service staff. The fried calamari appetizer was served with sliced pepperoncinis, which gave it a very pleasant tangy flavor. The entree was truly delicious and the portions were very generous. I had the chicken special which consisted of chicken, shrimp, garlic and mushrooms sauteed in a flavorful red sauce. It was served with a side of julienned vegetables and sweet croquettes. My fiance had lobster ravioli with shrimp in a creamy white sauce. My stepfather had a veal special which was to die for. Every meal on the table that I sampled was delicious and cooked perfectly. I was very surprised. This was the best meal I had in Bayonne, and one of the best I have had in Hudson county. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will certainly be a regular. [15 Jun 2008 22:29:00]
