Armadillo Crossing opened in 1994, doesn't serve beer or wine (you may bring your own), but it features all the other ingredients of a successful evening. Fanciful wrought-iron tables spill onto busy Main Street.

ATMOSPHERE: Cool, and interesting. Live music ranging from jazz to classical Spanish guitar and flamenco Fridays From 7 PM - 10 PM and Sundays From 6 PM - 9 PM.

SERVICE: Fast, kind and efficient.

RECOMMENDED DISHES: Roasted garlic with feta cheese, roasted peppers and sun-dried tomatoes; blackened steak bites with fresh corn salsa; grilled alligator sausage; Caesar salad; wild mushroom salad; baby back ribs; jerk chicken; salmon with cilantro hollandaise; roasted duck; sweet potato fries; caramel apple granny pie; Snickers pie; Reese's peanut butter pie.

PRICE RANGE: Appetizers: $2.95 to $7.95; entrees, $11.95 to $17.95; desserts, $3.95.
