Hannah and Mason's rules! This new restaurant is a winner! Intimate, though hardly quiet, it is a bright and lively venue in Cranbury. We enjoyed it immensely from the "best onion soup i've ever tasted" exclaimed by one of our party to "this duck is out of this world" so exclaimed my husband. The salads were alive and fresh, flavorful dressings and interesting combinations. My husband tried the steamed clams and chorizo - we all raved! The service was outstanding. Rob, our server could not have been more personable and competent. This is definitely a must try restaurant. Add it to your list today. [27 Oct 2004 11:39:36]

Excellent Reviews Are Well Deserved It has been eight months and seven glowing reviews later and these guys are still delivering consistent and unique cuisine. Given the void of decent food in the area between New Brunswick and Princeton, this place fits the bill. We have never had a quality restaurant like this in the past in the area. The chef and his staff are solid and exhibit an excellent understanding of the culinary arts. Flavor combinations and plate presentations are equally incredible. The ambiance is very cozy and the service is attentive and accomodating. The only drawback is the limited seating which leads to 30-45 minutes waits at times on Saturday nights. Nonetheless, it is worth the wait! [03 Mar 2005 20:31:32]

Best Filet Ever For all you meat lovers out there looking for the next best thing you'll ever eat, go to Hannah & Mason's. The filet was cooked to perfection. Adding bleu cheese to the top makes for a great taste combination. [09 Jan 2006 13:54:37]

Still going strong in Cranbury This little restaurant is the gem of Cranbury. Clearly, the food is very fresh and well crafted. The ambience is a little like a country inn. The layout is cozy, so it can be a bit noisy if one table in the room has very vocal patrons. But there is outdoor seating for the warm months. Service is very good and attentive. The prices are excellent for lunch time fare and a bit pricey for dinner. But either way, you'll be glad you dined there. [31 May 2006 14:22:04]

Still Needs Work The atmosphere is lovely, but the staff still seems in need of training. Food was nice, but some dishes lacked flavor.
The restaurant opened in July 2004, was taken over by the chef in 2005 and is now for sale again. With a little stability and an owner who is willing to make a long-term commitment, this place could be a real gem. [08 Sep 2006 12:05:48]

This place is amazing! Truly superb fare, at reasonable prices and BYO to boot. Who could ask for anything more? Whatever Chef Posner is up to in that creative culinary mind of his, I like it, actually, I love it! Keep up the good work boys, we'll see you very, very soon! [07 Nov 2007 00:08:47]

I love good food!!!, Princeton, NJ
Fine Dining for the Applebee's Crowd Clashing flavors, pretentious presentation, and out-of-season offerings are a hallmark of Hannah and Mason's. Clearly, the chef has delusions of grandeur. This is faux "upscale bistro" food for people that don't know any better. I've eaten here several times, each time hoping that my previous visit was not a good example of the restaurant's potential, but I've given up. There was a brief time, after the Gordon Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares" episode was filmed here, that it looked that the kitchen might be changing their attitude and offering simple, unfussy fresh food that the kitchen staff was actually excellent at preparing. I was excited about this change, and looked forward to having many good meals here. However, my last visit was extremely disappointing. What a shame. It's a lovely place in a lovely town. The service staff is cordial (although sometimes less than knowledgeable). It's just too bad the food doesn't match up with the other aspects of the restaurant. [04 May 2008 10:15:17]
