Salad Bar anyone
Although this diner's appearance doesn't catch your excitment at first glance, The Empire Diner is a step up in dining. They have a salad bar, banquet room, and an extremely nice staff who are willing to make your time very enjoyable. Absolutely great food, but of course that is expected. It's the only diner I've ever seen with a Salad Bar which is filled with ordinary salads, greek salads, and even an assortment of vegetables as well as Mexican Rice. They do not over-charge and I always leave full for a reasonable price, where as at other diners I have always felt like I deserve more as a consumer. I definitely recommend this place, and always enjoy going out for the evening with my friends to the Empire Diner.    [27 Jan 2004 15:54:46]

The best diner in the Freehold, Manalapan, Marlboro area. Great specials include fresh steaks, chops and duck. Delicious salad bar - good desserts also.

Great salad bar!
I have not tried many items on the menu because I always get the salad bar as a meal! They have the usual salad fixings - lettuce, bell peppers, cucumbers, etc. But they also have some great, unexepected things, like stuffed grape leaves, spinach, little new potatoes, and mandarin orange segments. One of the best meals in Freehold for vegetarians/vegans or anyone! The ambiance and service are very good for a diner, but obviously, it's a diner, not a fine dining restaurant.    [04 Apr 2006 15:45:49]
