Friendly place, good food.
Maneta's has been around forever. It's a fixture in the area and deserves to be. The service is friendly and they do breakfast about as well as anybody. Prices are CHEAP, no doubt about it, and lunches are excellent, too. Dinner is something else. There are hits and there are misses. Their trademark 'fish and chips' is very good. Big portions are a trademark. Some of the sides can be bland, and other entrees have been disappointingly uninspired. Golden Dawn, for example, beats them hands down in almost every category, but they're the exception that proves the rule. If you want to be comfortable, have a great cup of coffee or a delicious cheeseburger late at night, you go here (Maneta's fish and chips is also the best anywhere). They also deliver and take credit cards over the phone, and their delivery area is huge. That considered, they regularly get my business.    [16 Dec 2004 19:49:06]
