Hidden treasure! I happen to live nearby, so I had to check this place out. What luck -- they are recent owners, and it's that rare thing, a good local bakery. The best bakery cookies I have had since childhood; excellent artisan breads; cakes look fantastic. I took one of their sour cream pecan coffee cakes in to work one day, and my coworkers were knocked out by it. Worth a special trip! [09 Jul 2007 18:24:56]

Worth the trip!!! I live in Doyelstown, PA, but since discovering the Village Bakery, I still make the drive for Karen's special treats every Christmas and special occasion. The breads and pastries are amazing, the cakes have unique fillings and frostings include grenache and to-die-for butter creams. The ambiance and location make this a trip worth taking, whether you are local, or out of town! Bo is pretty sweet too! [28 Jan 2008 09:53:59]

Smells of childhood I actually live around the corner from the bakery and have to say that I absolutely love the smells that come from there in the morning. Not just that, but the pastries, cakes, breads and everything else the owners create is phenomenal! I haven't known a bakery this excellent since childhood. Karen and Otto truly bring back the meaning of "Village" - they are your friends as soon as you enter the door and make you want to come back with their personalities and their 5 star baking creations! Delicious Cakes I bought about five cakes at this bakery between 2007 and 2009, and have yet to find anything comparable. I recently moved out of state - far away from Lawrenceville, N.J. -- and am sad that I can't find any cakes as moist and savory as what's made at Village Bakery. Not to mention the staff was always terrific and accommodating. I wish there were more bakeries like this one! [07 Jun 2009 00:33:12]
