Poor Restaurant
I became gravely ill after dinner at this restaurant, I heard it was a good restaurant, but there was nothing good about my visit, the fish had an odor, it was dark in color, probably was fried in old oil and service wasn't any better than fair. I mentioned my displeasure to the waitress and she just acted none concerned. I will never return. It was a waste of money, it was expensive.    [06 Oct 2001 21:32:39]

The Best

Excellent crabs but not for everyone
I love Hardshell Cafe because they have the best crabs in the area and offer them several ways. Their other food ranges from quite bland to very good depending on what it is.

The atmosphere is very basic in nature and a bit cramped. Service is hit or miss as well. It's a bit of a clicky place so those in the click get great service. Those out of it are treated like a distant neighbor. Nice hello but little else.    [20 Jul 2002 18:16:57]

All you can eat nights, don't miss it....

It was ok......
I enjoyed going to the Hardshell Cafe. The food was delicious but a bit salty and covered in Garlic. The crabs are delicous and so was the ribs....I would recommend this to anyone who loves seafood.    [05 Sep 2002 16:56:51]

Excellent Fresh Seafood

Best Seafood in South Jersey

Very Much for the Crab Lover

Awesome!
My husband and I go once a year as a special treat. We absolutely love it! If you are going to have crabs, Don't dress up!! :-) The service was friendly.
