I had a Time at the Marlton Tavern... Casual and comfortable is how I describe the Marlton Tavern. Dressy jeans/shorts etc are the norm. The staff is friendly and attentive. The bar is fully stocked with all the latest liquors, reasonable and tasty wines, and world-renowned specialty beers. The menu boasts a variety of dinners ranging from about $12 - $20. Sandwiches ($4 - $9) are available all day and night. Marlton Tavern boasts a "Best of Philly" award-winning Happy Hour. I will continue to visit for fine food, drink and fun. []

I totally disagree with Amy. The bartenders, especially a female named Jackie, is very friendly and very sweet but has no idea how to make a drink or even what it is that you are drinking the second time around. In addition, you may order one drink and get something totally different poured from the bottle of what you requested. The manager is very rude and phony. The waitresses are the worse. The only thing that the Tavern has is the nice people that frequent the bar. You never know if you are speaking to a bartender, a drug dealer, a judge, the owner of a car dealership or just a CEO of a large corporation. The D.J. on Thursday and Friday knows how to make people grove to the music. The owner has no sense of how to run a tavern but all in all he is making it work and you can have fun ther [23 Jan 2003 16:15:06]

Above and beyond service Travelling after 11:00 on a rainy Tuesday night. Could sure use some food and drink. Though past the food serving hours, this establishment made an exception, showed us to the sun porch, and delivered delicious cold sandwiches with a smile and excellent service. Great pub environment with the obligatory small bathroom. This was our first visit; we'll come again. [31 Mar 2004 16:33:03]

The best pub/bar in the area!! Bar-None! If you want good food, great service and a place like "cheers" where everyone knows your name, The Marlton Tavern is the spot! There is free valet parking on weekends (though we always tip Tony, as he is the best and very trustworthy with even the most expenseive cars!) Then there's Russ - On Fridays, you can find him playing the best tunes to groove to. The staff - especially Danielle, Paul, and Chris are the best. I never have to tell them what I want to drink, as they have it waiting for me/us when they see me & my friends walk in! The management must be doing something right - because The Tav is a place we frequent 2-3 times per week! Whether you want a good meal, great ambiance, to party or just relax, this is the place to do it and have it all! Highly recommended!!!! [10 Jan 2007 17:10:16]

Go there - it's worth the trip. Excellent food and service. Go there for drinks, dinner, lunch, whatever. You'll feel comfortable there as soon as you walk in the door. [11 Jan 2007 08:27:32]

I keep going & going If you want to go to a real live version of Cheer's, this is the place. I've been going for a while now for lunch, dinner, a drink after work, Quizzo on Wednesdays or to hang out on Friday nights with Russ & the gang. It's always a good time and have met sooooo many nice people. The food always measures up and the service on Friday nights by Danielle can't be beat. I guess you could say I love everthing about the place. It you go for a "Special" Dinner request the private room upstairs... nothing like it there. [27 Jan 2008 10:44:38]

Hit or miss with service I have been to the tavern on several occasions, and it can be the greatest experience, or the worst. I have been there when the waitress was wonderful, and I have been there when the bartender tried to "pocket" an extra $10, even when my husband and I are very generous tippers! But there is one thing that is always great, and that is the food. Not once have I been disappointed in that department. If they were more careful on the hiring on the wait staff, the place would be phenomenal! [08 Mar 2008 13:33:36]

First & Last Visit I went to have dinner on a Sunday evening at the Marlton Tavern. I sat on a lovely enclosed porch. It took about 25 minutes to get a drink. The other drink for my friend was the wrong one, so he waited longer. After about an hour nothing was brought to our table. No rolls, no soup, no dinner. We stopped our waiter and paid for the drinks and left. We will never return again. The service was totally unacceptable, and other tables were leaving with the same experience. Very nice, relaxing dinner My husband and I enjoyed dinner at the Marlton Tavern one Friday evening around Christmas. It was relatively busy but we got good service. Drinks were great and brought in just the right time, and we were not rushed. Our waiter was attentive and noticed when my husbands water glass needed filling several times. Food was very good. Overall, a lovely time was had. [13 Jan 2009 15:21:00]
