I am a Jersey girl, born and raised, so diners are a second home to me. I'm used to decent breakfast food, a waitress named Rita and a cloud of smoke in older booths. The service isn't always great.
Echo Queen, however, changed my experience. Their restaurant is always clean for starters. It is fairly large and the waitresses there bend over backwards for their customers. There is a large non-smoking area and areas to hold large parties, too. The food is excellent, even by the standard of a regular restaurant. There are regulars there who come by daily, and the food is fresh and terrific. There is never a wait and if you're on your way to a movie, they'll hurry, and you'll get a percentage off to boot. If you come after a movie I believe it's a higher percentage off, as it's next door to Loews theatre. Everyone I have ever brought there has been impressed, and I'm actually holding a party there in just a few weeks. Echo Queen Diner is more along the lines of a restaurant than a diner, it's incredible [28 Nov 2005 08:16:29]

Great Service Awful Night Cook The service is always wonderful, and keeps regulars coming back for years. Unfortunately they have a very disruptive overnight cook. You could be the only person in the place, and it may take 20 minutes to get a grilled cheese. He has made myself and other female patrons I have spoken to very nervous, by staring out the kitchen window, bordering on sexual harassment. He could be overheard cursing about the waitresses even when they are no where near him. It's unfortunate that what was once a great place to get a late night snack, has only been saved by pleasant service. [25 Jul 2007 05:43:23]
