Excellent Summer Evening Stop
My wife, a seafood lover, and myself a beef eater, both found a good selection to choose from at reasonable prices and a unique atmosphere. We enjoy the early evening on the expansive outside deck overlooking the Cooper River Park. The servers are friendly and the service is prompt. Even though this is within sight of two major highways, it actually is quite tranquil. One can watch airlines approach to Philadelphia International, rowboats, geese, and people passby, all while shaded under sprawling Sycamore trees. A stop everytime we are in the Philadelphia-South Jersey area    [22 Apr 2002 22:30:59]

Superb Service and Food
I am a seafood lover and this was the best ever. I was taken to the Lobster Trap for my birthday and we had a wonderful time. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was remarkable and the drinks were refreshing. I would recommend this place to seafood lovers. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were sufficient. I really enjoyed the view of the Cooper River Park especially in the evening.    [13 Sep 2003 09:18:08]

Wonderful atmosphere, service and food
My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary at the Lobster Trap. The food was deliciously fresh, the atmosphere was perfect and our server was gracious. The pianist was a nice touch. A class act from beginning to end.    [20 Dec 2003 19:21:21]

Nice Location
This seafood restaurant overlooking the Cooper River has a great view and outside seating, with nice indoor ambiance as well. All of our food was fantastic and the waiter was great. I was commenting to the others in our party how impressed I was that everyone on staff seemed to be helping each other out as the place became busier with the evening rush. But I spoke too soon as our food was being served by someone other then our waiter. When he served our entrees we commented that the orders seemed to be placed at the wrong settings. The server replied without hesitation that he was too busy and we would have to switch things around ourselves. The manager that was called over seemed to be unfazed by this. When you're paying the prices to enjoy a fine dining experience, this is unacceptable and was dealt with in a very dissapointing manner.    [25 Apr 2004 14:45:59]

Didn't see what all the fuss is about...
We ate there last night and found the experience mixed. The appetizers were great. We had a Caesar salad and the clam chowder. However, that was the end of the great meal. We order the Lobster Fra Diavalo, which came with a whole lobster and mussels. The lobster was tough and over cooked and the mussels were gritty. The server, who was charming, brought them back to the kitchen and replaced them with "new" ones. These were just as gritty. As we were tasting the second batch, the owner came over and told us that the first ones were gritty and that he had personally washed them himself. He also said that sometimes there is sand inside and that these should be better. When we told him they weren't, he talked over us and did not hear us. Then walked away. I have never experienced such rudeness. If we had been angry or insulting, I wouldn't write this blurb but he was awful. We rounded out the meal by ordering the Tiramisu which was not made on the premise (as per the server) which tasted as such.    [04 Jan 2009 11:10:09]
