Overpriced & Pretentious
On a whim we decided to have dinner at Tre Piani. The last time we had eaten there was several years ago and enjoyed it. Well tonight was a totally different story.

First we were greeted with, "do you have a reservation?" (With open tables all around). Made us feel like he did us a favor seating us without a reservation.

Started off with the Cesar Salad, which was second rate dressing over day old lettuce.

Next up is the entrees. Hey, two out of three were not bad. The best is a chicken ravioli which I have to admit was very tasty.

The other two meals which looked much better then they tasted. The crab cakes were bland, shredded and stringy. There were very few lumps to be found.

The Veal Sorrentio was just off.

Finally dessert. How could they screw that up right? Well they did.

The first dessert was a ricotta cheese cake. Not bad, but way too much Anisete.
The second was a Hazelnut crepe. The crepe edges were burnt to a crisp and they lacked on the Hazelnut.

The bill was $125 for three people with only one glass of wine.

What a mistake. I think we would have been happier at Chilis.

Oh, the best part. A member of our party was clocked in the head with a drink tray.

I can’t make this stuff up.    [09 Oct 2004 22:18:29]
