Not Great The food here is expensive and absolutely hit or miss. Service can be very slow. If this place were not firmly ensconsed as a tourist trap, it wouldnt survive.
You are at best just another dollar bill here. [17 Aug 2006 13:22:50]

Great food for your money We thought the food was great, we loved their salad bar. We always try to get there for the early bird special. It's a 45 min drive for us and well worth the drive... I even get gift certificates to give as gifts. My daughter and future son-in-law Eddie loves it, and go there about once a week.. [10 Oct 2006 23:37:18]

Outstanding value!!!!!! The "Sunset" meals are the best value. Try the "Broiled Trio": flounder, shrimp and scallops, potato and perfectly cooked veggies. New england clam chowder, (the best) and dessert, all included in the price. When we make our visit to the Shrimp Box, my wife has a different "Sunset" meal each visit. All have been great. Food served HOT. Service, the best. [25 Oct 2006 14:12:10]

Mediocre at best I had heard about this place for years, and decided to give it a go. The place has a somewhat dated interior, like it was designed back in the early 70's, and never updated. Nice location though, if you can get a window seat by the water. I went on a Saturday evening around 6, and the place was filled to capacity. I immediately got that tourist trap establishment feeling. As it turned out, my suspicions were not unfounded. To begin with, the salad bar was extremely limited, and not very interesting. The stuffed flounder I ordered was overdone and rather bland. Service was competent, considering the crowd. This place is a typical shore restaurant that serves up mediocre grub to the masses. So how do these places proliferate the way they do? I'm guessing that most people simply don't know any better, or they get sucked in like I did, by generally good word of mouth.
