Main Street Bistro is a must have in every town My wife and I are eternally disenchanted with so many restaurants (dare I say all). We often try new openings and are either immediately discouraged as our hopes are dashed yet again, or subsequent visits prove too much to take.
Main Street Bistro is, has, and remains a favorite spot to go no matter what our mood or timeframe. It's as satisfying for a special occasion in the dining room as it is for a quick pre-movie meal in the bar.
First let me point out that Main Street has always been non-smoking, no TV and no alcoholic posters or trashy happy-hour junk. The Bar is dark wood with an inlaid green marble top. There is a superb glass wine program and 9 select beers (taps are in the back bar). This makes the user hone their interpersonal skills as one cannot fall back on the "game" or other such distractions.
The dining room is a comfortable space decorated with fine black and white photos of famous celebs in one area, as well as several large vintage automobile posters in another. There is a central fireplace for cooler months and a fantastic outdoor terrace for the warmer ones.
For foodies looking for a great selection that changes monthly without a lot of pretense or snobbery, this is the place to go... anytime. [07 Nov 2006 12:07:59]
