Maybe the food is good??? Planned on eating at Sotto on Saturday night. Entered the restaurant and the host told us it would be 50 minutes. I took my wife to the bar to pass the time with a few drinks. An hour later I asked the bartender to check in on when we would be seated. He came back an told me to get comfortable it was going to be another 45 minutes. By this point the band in the bar was so loud I could no longer hold a conversation. Confused about how a 50 minute wait turned into a 95 minute wait I went to see what the heck was going on. I felt this exceeded an exceptable amount of time to be off. Instead of appologizing and offering to do something the host shrugged his shoulders.
So bottom line is this restaurant may have good food... I will never know. What I can tell you is they must have enough customers where they don't care if a few leave not happy!!!! [17 Apr 2007 15:57:50]

Horrible The waitstaff is horrible, the food is not as good as the prices are high. The host is an absolute jerk. They do not care about your happiness. It's in a basemnet for pete's sake! [24 Sep 2007 15:36:21]

Wonderful! The appetizers are excellent. The menu is interesting, eclectic enough. The wine list is very nice. I went during the week and it was not overly crowded or noisy. Would recommend it highly. [09 Nov 2007 16:00:51]

Repeat Customers Very Satisfied Sotto is just as good as the owner's prior establishment, "La Principessa". Appitizers are great, always check out the specials. Polenta, marscapone cheese, loose sausage and broccoli rabe. The special entree "double stuffed pork chops w/ Jack Daniels demi glaze" is absolutely incredible! John, your host is quite professional. Bad Business The food at Sotto's was just okay and very pricey. However, the owners are not reputable business people. My shearling jacket was ruined by a waiter carrying olive oil. I came back to Sotto's a week later (after I tried to get the jacket cleaned on my own and was told it was ruined.) They were very nice to me, until they saw the receipt for the one month old jacket. They accused me of lying, even though I have three witnesses, who saw the jacket without a stain when I went in and on it when I walked out. Bad business decision!! Princeton is a small town. There are much better restaurants in town and ones where you are not eating in a basement!!! [23 Dec 2007 11:47:47]
