A Step Above Your Basic Chain Centrally located, decent service and consistantly good food, moderately priced. Two people can get well fed for under 20 bucks (if you skip appetizers and alcohol). Big portions (I always walk out with left-overs).
Problems: For those who are bothered by cigarette smoke, when you walk into the restaurant, you walk right into the bar, which is always smoky. The non-smoking section is right next to the bar, and it's hard to avoid the smell. Ask to be seated far away from the bar if the smoke gets to you. [06 May 2004 16:23:43]

Very Bad I recently went to Winberie's in Princeton. My father ordered a Martini which was only filled half way. Then we ordered our food and were very specific that the dressing be on the side (for health reasons). The waitress, who was extremely rude, asked if we wanted to pay a dollar for cheese with my daughter's chicken Fajitas. We agreed.
When our meals came out - in shifts, I may add - the bacon and cheddar burger that my father had had only a half slice of cheese! Also, he got about 7 french fries! Next, after 10 minutes of waiting, the two salads came out with dry lettuce on top, and as soon as I mixed it around, I realized it had been drenched with dressing. Also, the crispy chicken was indeed just that - burnt fried chicken. My husband owned a well-known chicken restaurant for many years, and he said the chicken was like this due to dirty oil. The waitress then brought out my daughter's tortillas and "cheese". The cheese that cost a dollar was in a tiny, tiny cup like you get for ketchup when you go to Red Lobster. For a dollar I thought they would at least give you a bread plate full.
While everyone but my daughter got their food, we heard the table right next to us complaing about the service, quality of food, and quantity. My daughter finally got her chicken and there were 5 small pieces which didn't even fill her up. My father got up and talked to the manager about the poor service. He said he would be right over, but we had to wait 20 minutes for him to make an appearance at our table. I guess he wanted us to leave. We talked to him, about all of these problems and he said "I'll give you 30% off!" For all those problems, this guy can't even be resepectful. No wonder his restaurant is like this. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you hate cheese and love rude people! [24 Dec 2003 11:43:45]

Good food, fun people This place is a step above a TGIF in type of eating establishments. It has good decent food and is a fun place to be in Palmer Square on a weekend night. [20 Sep 2007 11:08:36]
