Don't Miss this One There isn't anything bad on the menu, which changes frequently. Some familiar favorites are the Belgian Endive, Apple & Rocquefort appetizer, venison (in the fall) and homemade desserts to write home about. [18 Dec 2001 01:00:08]

Fantastic! Kevin Kohler truly is one of the best chefs in Northern New Jersey. You won't want to miss his duck or carpaccio. [04 Apr 2002 13:49:58]

Not worth it My wife and I have always wanted to try Cafe Panache. We've always heard good things about it and Zagat gives it a good review. We were very disappointed. We heard the service was snooty but that was not true. Actually the service was excellent. The food however is another story. We started off with the garden salad, it tasted like grass. My wife had the tuna steak special that tasted ok but after dinner she became violently ill for most of the evening. I had the duck which did not taste like any duck I ever had. Actually it tasted like steak. If I had wanted steak I would have ordered it. For dessert we ordered the white chocolate mousse. It was overly sweet and grainy. [13 Aug 2004 07:20:31]

Best restaurant! Kevin does a great job! We had succulent diver scallops in a fennel sauce and the best duck we've ever had. Also, the lemon mousse with almond was magnificent. Kevin continues to outdo himself and is one of the best chefs in Northern NJ and in the Northeast! [24 Feb 2005 19:12:39]

Cafe Panache has jumped the shark My husband and I have been loyal customers of Cafe Panache for the past two years. Until last night, it was one of our favorites. We both ordered the tuna tartare and sadly had to send it back. The tuna did not taste fresh and had a bad taste to it. I ordered the duck and it was horrible. The side dish that was included was also horrible. They added bits of liver chunks from who knows what animal and I almost gagged. My husband ordered the lamb chops and had no flavor at all. Needless to say, we will no longer be dining here nor will we tell our friends to. [23 Sep 2007 14:45:37]

Cafe Panache Has Deteriorated I visited on a rainy night. The door had been moved to the far side of the restaurant. A sign indicating the new door was very poorly marked.
My dinner was scallops and artichokes. The scallops were OK.
The wait staff did little to keep wine glasses filled, even though they weren't very busy. [24 Jun 2008 22:20:08]
