I have been eating at Meil's for a few years now. Everything I have tried is outstanding! It is a small place so I would not bring a large group. They have no kids menu, but the have great sizes and fruit salad that my kids love. If you our looking for a great meal with that homecooked taste this is the only place to go! [31 May 2002 10:27:25]

Down home cookin' I recently dined at Meil's Restaurant, and I was blown away by the delicious portions and the warm friendly service. I had the rack of lamb. It had a delicious rosemary rub on it that was spicy and flavorful. The service was excellent, and I was lucky enough to have the owners son at my waiter... He certainly lived up to his reputation as the best waiter in New Jersey. I would recommend Meil's Restaurant to anybody. If you are in the New Hope area then don't forget to stop by Meil's, you won't regret it! [22 Nov 2003 22:39:18]

Talk About a Meil... This is the best show in town! On the average we eat at Meil's at least once a week. We have been for 10 years probably. By far this is the best restaurant around for comfort food & generous portions. Lots of "oohs" & "aahs" when your entree arrives. The breakfast on the weekends is outstanding and you will see many a familiar face - because we always come back for more. A charming gallery surrounds you with vintage hotel dinnerware and darling miniature vases filled with fresh flowers. We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner - you can't beat it! This place warms you heart, and warms your java and tea cups in a flash. The food is heavenly and made with love! Extra portions of love! The potato pancakes are to die for (so light like a cumulus nimbus cloud), fresh applesauce, corn fritters with jam, etc. I have so many favorites but the Eggs Benedict are so consistent it is unbelievable. Served with country ham (3/4" thick and tasty) and spinach & a Hollandaise that warms your heart. The croissant french toast with fresh fuit or filled with almond custard is another dream. All breakfast entrees are served with slivered sweet potato & white potato home fries and the desserts are in abundance and made right on site. They even make their own marshmallows - can you believe it? Their own marshmallows! YES! The portions are large and you are encouraged to share. It's never frowned upon. A little pricey but worth it - just like Mom makes. Get there early on a beautiful weekend - but your wait can be shortened by walking just across the narrow street to see Sue at Riverbank Arts Gallery. She has the most eclectic gallery. Many local artists hang their paintings and she offers lots of funky and fun art too - i.e. sculpture, pottery, gorgeous nudes, etc. Morten-Monberg Antiques (New York Chic) next door specializes in Swedish antique Biedermeyer 19th century furniture, also furniture from the former spanish colonies and contemporary lighting - what a wonderful mix and he is delightful to chat with - not pretentious at all. Go there - eat & be merry! [10 May 2004 01:22:30]

Absolutely charming Stopped here returning from Bucks County and was so impressed with the old-fashioned charm and warmth of this place. My server saw I was alone and offered me a newspaper which I really appreciated. The lima bean soup special was sensational! Was even busy for "late lunch" at 2:30PM. [03 Jun 2005 21:15:03]

A Good Home Meal Like Mother Makes If you want to go out and just sit back and enjoy cooking that just came off the stove, go to Meil's. Food is truly for comfort. The wait staff is exceptional. I feel as though they are family members after only going there a few times. Though it gets very busy and noisy on weekends, if you go early enough or a little later, you miss it all. No one ever rushes you there. You can sit and eat without feeling like you'll be thrown out shortly. The turkey dinner is excellent though I find the cranberry sauce way too sweet to eat. Parsley cakes don't sound like something you would order, but believe me, they are superb. There brie sandwiches are better than most because of the excellent bread they use. Only wish they would have oatmeal for breakfast. If they did, I'd be there every day!!! I forgot to mention that they have the best homebrewed iced tea around. I tried to make it at home and it was a flop. [20 Jul 2007 12:24:18]
