Victoria's - Class in a classless town The culinary gem of Teaneck is Victoria's Cafe on the corner of Queen Anne Road and DeGraw.
Victoria's provides a menu with many delectable dinner entrees and desserts to match. Depending on who is in the kitchen area, they make a wonderful vanilla cappucino.
At lunch, your best bet is a half "premium" soup and sandwich. I highly recommend the turkey and honey mustard sandwich on french bread. They include their exquisite honey mustard dressing with their turkey and cheese sandwich with the unexpected twist of a sliver of green apple. Wonderful.
They also serve afternoon tea - which by itself reaks of high society. Highly recommended to experience as well!
The outdoor area is a delight in the evening. Indoors, the spaces are cramped and the tables are incredibly tiny. Over the last year or so, the cafe has turned a bit grungy inside. There are simply too many tables and too many chairs. The waitstaff tend to take their time getting to you to take your order. I visited Victoria's recently well after lunch but before dinner, and the tables were a mess. Chairs were everywhere and there were dishes on four tables that had yet to be cleared. My own table had to be wiped down at my request, which was disappointing. I've found also that this varies depending on who is working that day. Also, it's quite disturbing that they have utilized the space between the men's and ladies rooms for another table. It's bothersome when people go to use the bathroom and the door hits into your chair. It's disgusting if the person in the bathroom had a "long talk" with nature - the proximity of that table to the bathroom door tends to draw your nose into their "conversation" and it rarely goes away quickly.
Despite the downfall of the interior, the food is the true redemption!
Parking is very limited (4 spaces shared by Victoria's patrons and a quiche restaurant's patrons), so you need to park across the street in the small lot behind the auto center. Chances are that lot is full also. Be prepared to walk, or park in the deli's parking lot down the street. But park there at your own risk! The owners are vigilant in monitoring who uses their very unnecessarily large lot and will call the towing company to have you removed [23 Jul 2002 17:20:39]

Recently Disappointed We have been loyal Victoria's customers for over four years, and in recent trips for coffee and dessert, we have been very disappointed with the service.
Our last two visits, we either waited an exceptionally long time for our server to come to the table, and the check was presented to us at the same time our food was brought.
We were seated next to the kitchen, and there was food on the floor visible from the dining room.
Here's hoping that service improves back to the way things used to be... [26 Jul 2002 23:24:57]

A Nice Place to Have Lunch with Family The soups are excellent which isn't a surprise, much like the deserts which are also above average. [27 Oct 2002 12:06:28]

Service and Food Improved Food has changed to accomodate all ages and taste. Service has become very much improved with a friendly waitstaff and prompt attention to the customers. [10 May 2003 08:57:35]

Victoria's I recently visited Victoria's on a friend's recommendation, and I was pleasantly surprised! The food is excellent, but more than that, the waitstaff were extremely prompt, courteous, and very helpful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in a high-quality restaurant with good service. [10 Jun 2003 18:45:15]

Food? Excellent! Service? Umm... well... The food is unbelievably good, although a little pricey for the portion sizes. There seems to be an unusually high turnover in waitstaff and the product knowledge is generally limited. Perhaps if the management focused on keeping the staff, the timeliness and quality of service would improve. [23 Jun 2003 12:44:33]

Not too impressed I have been a loyal customer to Victoria's for over 2 years. I have to say that I am quite disappointed in the quality of food and service that I have experienced in my recent visits. Ever since they came under new management, I have had to wait for a long time for my food order to come out, the waitstaff does not know much about what they are selling, and the restaurant itself is quite dirty. Food particles still litter the floor -- a sign that they are not as clean as they should be. Not only that, but I think they have to do something about their specials -- as they are way too overpriced and never cooked properly (especially the fish and steak). [25 Jun 2003 17:38:41]

If you want overpriced food, go to Victoria's Victoria's is not what it used to be. The waitstaff is unknowledged, the person running everything does not seem to know what he is doing, and the food is not worth what they are charging. I waited almost 20 minutes for my appetizer, and when I finally received it, it was cold. The ONLY good thing I can say about Victoria's is that at least they can't do bad with their cakes... what's there to mess up? Victoria's needs to change, and they need to change now! Lovely ambiance, great food I recently went back to Victoria's after a long absence and was very pleased with the service, atmosphere and food. the tables were well spaced and the waitstaff, while attentive, was not overbearing. The food was excellent and portions were great for the price. [29 Jul 2005 11:12:47]

I miss the old staff! Victoria's used to be a fun and welcoming place where the manager and staff seemed to be more like a family. Everything used to flow which it no longer does. I used to come several times a week and was always greeted by the sweet staff, but under this new management it is very different. I miss the old Victoria's where the owners sister was running the front and the cool young waiters knew everything about the menu. Not what it used to be. [14 Aug 2007 13:57:53]
